12-year-old girl tries to poison mother twice after iPhone confiscation

12-year-old girl tries to poison mother twice after iPhone confiscationWe’ve heard all sorts of stories over the years about the lengths some people will go to for an iPhone, including the Chinese chap who sold a kidney, and the Chinese lass who offered to exchange her virginity for an iPhone 4.

The 12-year-old girl in this story already had an iPhone, but reacted in the worst possible way when it was taken away: by trying to kill her own mother. Twice.

The unnamed girl is currently in custody in a juvenile holding centre in Boulder, Colorado, having admitted that she was trying to commit matricide, by poisoning her mother with bleach.

The mother initially felt ill having inadvertently consumed a fruit smoothie laced with bleach, but assumed that the glass perhaps hadn’t been cleaned properly.

When she smelled bleach a few days later coming from a water carafe in her room, she confronted her daughter, who admitted she was trying to commit murder having had her iPhone confiscated.

“It seems a little bit of an outrageous reaction to having your phone taken away,” observes a neighbour, “but I think it’s also reflecting of how our teens and our kids are so dependent on that, that they’d be willing to those extremes.

“It sounds like the situation was probably out of hand before that,” added the neighbour.

How is that iPhone related?
The girl obviously has 'issues' - and, I s'pose, mom, too.
Coulda been any phone or gizmo, or being grounded....
Parenticide is actually the fastest growing kill-sector in the US of A. Fact.
And here: maybe kids shouldn't have iPhones?
And - oh, that juice tastes a bit bleachy...hmmm at least she did the dishes. Bless. Gulp....
