Why do 3D TVs need special glasses but 3D phones didn't?
Why don't 3D TVs use the same "autostereoscopic" technology?

I'm assuming because the viewing angle and distance can vary so much on a TV (depending on where you're sitting), whereas with a phone you'll always be looking straight on at roughly the same distance. That being said, I think there are TV's with glasses-less 3D, where you have to sit in specific "sweet spots" to get a 3D image.
