How can I use 3G on my new iPhone 4?

I'm a newbie to the iPhone. I love it so far, but every time I try to use the web or other 3G services I get an error: "you are not subscribed to a cellular data service"? I checked in settings and 3G is enabled.
Any help would be appreciated. The phone is on Vodafone by the way.

Hi snickersyum,
regardless wether 3G is enabled on your handset or not: that message means you have no data-plan in Vodafone-speak ;) That means internet data traffic is not enabled on Vodafone's side of the mast. You should get in touch with Vodafone and see what your options are. Some Vodafone quicklinks here
