Is 4G fast enough for online gaming?

Could you playing online gaming by tethering through a 4G phone with good signal?

Yep, ping between 4G and 3G is the same. This has nothing to do with 3G or 4G itself. All latency is added by provider network backbone - between actual tower and internet. Since phones were never meant to be used for low latency data communications providers never updated their network.

Your question is game dependent - some games work fine with high latency and some don't.

Well... that depends on your speed :p
Just cause it says 4G on the tin doesn't mean your speeds will be always and consistently faster than 3G or EDGE... Best thing to do: get your hands on a 4G phone and see what you actually get.

The problem with online gaming via mobile internet is the slow ping, not the lack of outright bandwidth. 3G is easily fast enough to game on, it's just the ping is way to slow to prevent horrendous lag; the same is true for 4G most of the time, I think.
