What was the first 4GB RAM smartphone?
I've noticed a couple of 4GB RAM smartphones this year i.e. Asus ZenFone 2 and Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. What was the very first to make the leap from 3GB?

There are no 4GB RAM smartphones, so nobody made a leap yet. Phones that you mentioned are not available for sale. There is a possibility that there is some Asian phone that one can buy with 4GB, but I don't know any - there is just too many of them. At least in UK 4GB phones do not exist.
In order to support 4GB of RAM chipset needs ARMv8-A instruction set. Only chipset on the market that support ARMv8-A is Exynos 5433. For some reason Samsung decided to disable 64bit mode on their chipset and this is why Note 4 ships with only 3GB.
MediakTek MT8732 and MT8752 are 64bit and support 4GB of RAM, but I don't see any phones available with either of the chipsets. There might be claims in Asia that phones are available with new MediakTek chipset as of right now, but I don't see a way to buy them yet. It's possible that final Release Candidate handsets are circulating for testing purposes, but not yet available to the public.
