We’ve already had semi-official confirmation that Mango will see Windows Phone 7 evolve to become Windows Phone 7.5, with a number of significant improvements.
Now Stevie Ballmer tells us that Mango will bring no less than 500 new features. Jings.
Speaking at the Japanese Microsoft Developer Forum, Ballmer told attendees that Japan will see Mango-running handsets later in the year.
Developers will be able to get stuck into juicy Mango at the end of the week, in plenty of time for its launch.
Even more exciting, Ballmer reveals that tomorrow’s Mango event (check out the subtle invite above) will detail the OEMs and carriers. That lends credence to the rumours that we might finally see some new Windows Phone 7 handsets announced officially. Fingers crossed…
