is 500MB a lot of data?

Is 500MB a lot of data these days? I mostly use my phone for texting (which obviously doesn't use data lol) and Twitter.

Well it's not a lot of data, but then your described usage doesn't sound like you need a lot.

500mb is enough for basic use, so web browsing, twitter, emails etc...

If you stream videos or music then data usage will go up.

This calculator is fairly accurrate and quite eye opening. by watching 2 hours of HD video in a month you can use over 500mb

You could use more than twice that in one hour depending on the HD.

Correct, If it's full HD it'd take under 30 minutes.

Mind you vodafone and o2 seem to think it's a lot of data seeing as some of their deals feature 100mb....

True, i think i've already mentioned on here that i told one guy he would 100% need more than 100mb and he didn't listen and ended up using 300mb in the first 8 days so had to pay about £6 to upgrade his tariff to a higher data plan. This was for an old phone that was cheap at the original price point, but overpriced after the data was added.
