We're still in the dark over what Google will announce at its Android-related event next week, but one of the possibilities – the unveiling of a second-generation Nexus 7 tablet – has just become a lot more likely.
Over the past couple of days fresh Google Nexus 7 2 images, videos and specs have appeared on the web, suggesting a full reveal could be just days away.
We have Android Central to thank for the latest round of leaks on a device that's been no stranger to rumour pieces over the past couple of months.
The pics and video supplied by its anonymous source aren't overly noteworthy – the tablet in question (which is clearly made by Asus but doesn't identify itself specifically as an Android device) looks a little chunkier than we had hoped for, but otherwise it's... well... a tablet.
But a close-up of the spec sheet stuck to the back of the unnamed slate does reveal a couple of fresh details. First up, there's a Qualcomm APQ8064 motherboard inside with a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and a generous 4GB of RAM.
We'd already heard talk of twin cameras (5MP round the back and 1.2MP on the front) and twin stereo speakers, while the battery is a 3,950mAh unit.
Sounds not bad all told. Hopefully we'll hear more about the Google Nexus 7 2 next week.
