Pretty impressive slide and peek action - Nokia N9 meets Pre 3.

Agree. They need to work with networks. When bis crashes the network's default APN needs to take over. Dito when 3rd party apps don't play nice with BIS/BES... O2 ireland actually have a decent setup. But others rely on punters being able to do it all manually - if they can find the correct settings at all...

I think these new BB devices will do better than WP tbh!

And yes - I love the UI. If it works as smoothly with dozens of apps etc etc, it'd be a real winner.

Might want to mention the video's in German, Jan ;).

Looks much better than WP... actually anything does.
And the app situation is getting better as well:

If this doesn't succeed, Jolla will not stand a chance either.

Don't you all speak German? Schweinehunde! It's Austrian to be precise - the occluded diphthongs should have tipped you off :p

Absolutely agree.

BB doesn't need many apps to kick start. Most RIM revenue comes from business users, which do not require any apps, but pay premium for handsets. You need approval from IT department to install apps, which limits you to basic ones.
Low end devices, that are popular in emerging countries, bring in very low margin. They help hold on to market share, but not to revenue.
Getting business to upgrade to BB10 is what RIM needs to focus on. This will provide enough breathing room to get app store up to date, listen to feedback and improve.

Good points. It's all about balance. Keep established business users happy while creating mass appeal... WP totally failed in both categories when "7" was launched.

Just don't forget the many work drones now equipped with iPads and iPhones. You can't attract them with an app-free work-only device.

I did a GCSE in German, not a Masters Degree :p.

Personally only studied the language of the country we seem to battle the most at school tbh (oh and Latin that I nearly forgot I studied, oops) now studying the one of the country I'd like to live in, which definitely isn't austria or germany.

And surely talk of occluded diphthongs shouldn't be allowed before the watershed..
