Is there such a thing as an 8GB iPhone 4S?

Is there an 8GB iPhone 4S or is 16GB the smallest?

No, there'll probably be one when the iPhone 5 (or whatever it's called) comes out, though.

I don't think it'd be a very good idea to get one though with app sizes on the rise.

The 8gb iPhone 4 is a crap buy, never mind a potential 8gb iPhone 4S.

Especially as the 8GB aren't even 8 ;)

I hate the way manufacturers advertise storage... Friend just got a Sony Xperia S. Right, so no sd card expansion. Not so bad, because hey, it's a 32 GB device, right?! Well, out of the box (O2 Ireland) that Sony Xperia S has...tatataaaaaaargh: 21GB available! And all the crap is undeletable, and because it is branded the bootloader cannot be unlocked via Sony, so current root solutions don't work...

Anyhow, an 8GB iPhone 4S would be stupid. There are relatively harmless apps that take up 300MB... Some games 800MB, Garageband 600, iPhoto 120... 20 apps and the thing is full without any songs, photos or vids...

That's just mad, what on earth have they filled it with?

NOT much, actually o_O not even a free game. Just crap O2 apps, sony store and this and that... I'll take a closer look on the weekend

More to the point, why did your friend buy an Xperia S :|?

Just freaky. IOS uses 3.11gb leaving just under 58gb on my 64gb touch after 1000*1000/(1024*1024) issues thought that was bad enough.

Is there a lot of music or video on there, sony are fond of wasting space like that.

Actually that makes me think 8gb goes to 7.63gb so less IOS 3.11gb means just over 4.5gb less the standard apps sure doesn't leave much.

64 GB (advertised) = ~59.5 GiB (traditional 1024 bytes "Gigs").
So really just under 58 GBs free sounds like the OS is only taking up 1.5 GBs.

i would be shocked if IOS is 3.11gb. its usually a percentage of the total space of the built in memory. so in an 8gb device it would be smaller than 3gb..

oops!! I think I missed one *1000/1024 stage. 59.6 it is. So with capacity of 57.9 the ios is using 1.7gb. So roughly 5.75 on *gb before it starts with the apps
