Or if they've not tampered too much put the word in whilst texting or emailing, select the word and "add to dictionary" should be an option.

I assume no different to the procedure on the SGS III?
1) Go into "Language and input" settings
2) Click the Samsung keyboard setting
3) Click "Predictive Text"
4) Scroll Down and click "My Word List"
5) Simply add your custom words here

Nope, that isn't an option in my Note 2. I get Learn from Facebook, Google and Twitter (all requiring a login), Clear remote data, clear personalized data. But no "My Word List"

Under language setting as the person above mentioned, under personalization and tap Learn from messages. It then learns what you have done in messaging.

to add a word to dictionary in samsung note 3 when using swype keyboard, just type the word and when you press space after it, then you wil see an option in "swype' keyboard. if you wrote "zoombadoombadu' you will see an option '+Add zoombadoombadu to dictionary'. just click on it..Done.

But if you don't use the swype keyboard, how do you access the dictionary? It's annoying to have to spell my name out every time.
