Two words: Temple Run. I’d love to leave it there and spend the rest of the afternoon napping on the couch, but Emma would beat me senseless with a feather duster, and not for the first time.
Yeah, so, Agent Dash is one of them games wherein the aim is to run for as long as possible without tripping over stuff or falling down a hole or whatever. Is it worth playing? Aye, it’s pretty good.
If you’re at all familiar with Temple Run, you’ll immediately feel at home with Agent Dash. It’s incredibly similar. While Temple Run paid a nod to Indiana Jones, Agent Dash is essentially the James Bond equivalent.
The main difference here is that there are three lanes. If you want to turn right, you need to make sure you’re in the right lane as the turn approaches; ditto for the left (obvs).
There are also guns, though the weapons really don’t play a huge part. Occasionally there’s a prompt to tap the screen and blast some doors open, but that’s about the size of it.
Otherwise, Agent Dash offers much the same running, jumping, sliding experience as Temple Run. You collect jewels as you dash, and you can invest ‘em in power-ups and extra characters and that. Sound familiar?
There are also one-off power-ups, offering the ability to start farther into the game (if you’re really lazy) or slow time, among other things.
Being free, Full Fat Productions happily welcomes real money – if you can’t be bothered actually playing the game and saving up jewels. Incidentally, saving is fairly slow going, but that’s par for the freemium course.
We would’ve liked to see more from the James Bond element in Agent Dash. In fact, it’s not entirely clear why our secret agent is running at all. At least Temple Run included a little animation at the beginning with a stolen artifact type thing.
Agent Dash does, however, look fantastic.
And that’s Agent Dash. If you liked Temple Run, chances are you’ll like this.
- Looks great
- Power-ups and stuff
- It’s free!
- Saving jewels is a slooooow process
- Why is the agent dashing?
- It’s very like Temple Run
Summary: Like Temple Run? You’ll like Agent Dash. Probably.
