Alcohoot breathalyser connects to smartphones, confirms when you’re steamboats

Alcohoot breathalyser connects to smartphones, confirms when you’re steamboatsHere’s a fitting story considering I’m currently nursing a colossal hangover in Berlin after last night’s Christmas bash. HotUKDeals’ Jason dancing on a table? Yeah, that happened.

Meet the Alcohoot smartphone breathalyser, a bizarre "world's first" accessory that plugs into your phone’s headphone jack and ultimately gives a read on your current level of intoxication.

Weighing in at $119, the Alchohoot smartphone breathalyser claims to offer “police grade accuracy” when it comes to measuring blood alcohol, though we’re not entirely sure who it’s aimed at.

For drivers, if you’ve had anything to drink at all, it’s probably a good idea to walk it off or grab a taxi. If you’re the kind of person who’s looking to take it right to the limit with the help of Alcohoot, well, I wish to punch you, quite frankly.

And while the Alcohoot smartphone breathalyser might be “a laugh” (I dread to think what I would’ve scored last night), it’s a fairly expensive joke.

To be fair, the accompanying Alcohoot smartphone app will help you call a taxi “with one touch”, while the “smart tracking” feature sounds like the kind of thing that might convince people to reconsider their drinking habits. But still… $119.

The Alcohoot smartphone breathalyser is currently available in the US only, with iOS and selected Android compatibility, but the guys have their sights set on “growing internationally soon”.

I agree whole heartily about those who chance their arm seeing if they can just stay under the limit that night and drive but it would be very useful to see actually how much alcohol you still have in your system the morning after the night before, I would imagine most people would be surprised to see how much over the limit they would be!
