Amazon selling a million Kindle Fires a week

Amazon selling a million Kindle Fires a weekJust how well is the Amazon Kindle Fire doing over in the States? Pretty well indeed, the online retailer has revealed.

Amazon says the pocket-friendly Android tablet has been its best-selling product of all for 11 straight weeks now, and is currently flying off the digital shelves at a rate of a million a week.

That's not bad going for a first attempt, and it's now looking like the Kindle Fire will easily hit its five million sales target for the year – and then some.

“Kindle Fire is the most successful product we’ve ever launched – it’s the best-selling product across all of Amazon for 11 straight weeks, we’ve already sold millions of units, and we’re building millions more to meet the high demand,” Amazon revealed in a press release.

“In fact, demand is accelerating – Kindle Fire sales increased week over week for each of the past three weeks.”

Now just imagine how many more it would sell if it got round to launching the tablet internationally. Just saying.

I would say that Kindle software is still in beta - too many bugs and gross lack of important features.
Releasing Fire anywhere outside of US would be troubleshooting nightmare and you would not want one now. When Amazon fixes their bugs and provides good content delivery for the rest of the world it would be a viable purchase.

Without SD card slot you have to have Wi-Fi accessible and without camera it's not a communication device.

Sounds like they are struggling to keep up with hardware demands there let alone anywhere else. So could be a while.
