Ahh, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. From “iPhone killer” to £200 bargain bin laughing stock in five short months. Actually, that’s probably a tad harsh. For £200, I’m almost tempted to get one for a laugh. Almost.
Anyways, mockery aside, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play is reportedly receiving a couple of treats in its latest Gingerbread (Android 2.3.4) update.
First up, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will now be able to capture video in 720p HD. A member of xda-developers has even posted a seven-second video clip on YouTube. In said clip, we see two dogs sleeping, one of which briefly raises his head. Exciting stuff.
The second treat, according to Xperia Blog, is the ability for Sony Ericsson Xperia Play owners to enable/disable auto brightness. Apparently the feature wasn’t included in the 2.3.4 update for the Xperia Arc and Neo. A small victory for the Play, I guess.
Does anyone actually have a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, or “PlayStation Phone” if you prefer? Worth a shot at £200?
