How can I see what Android apps are running?

How can I see a list of apps currently running on my Samsung Galaxy S2?

In settings => applications => manage applications you should find a tab for "running" if I remember correctly.
Or just press and hold the Home button - that brings up Samsung's taskmanager.

That only shows part of the picture, though, because in addition to the apps listed there are countless services and processes running that you have little power over unless your phone is rooted.

I don't know about the OG SGS2, but Sprint's SGS2 Epic 4g Touch has an app called "Talk Manager" that will show you everything that's running.

True, though us old-worldlers call it the Taskmanager... but Talk is gooder :p

Yeah, forgot all about that more obvious solution ;)

So: OP, hold the HOME-button for a couple of seconds, and you'll see all running apps.
