Which Android based phone has the best quality camera?

I just smashed my Nexus in the car door... so I guess I'm in the market for a new phone. The one thing I haven't been totally happy with is the quality of the pics I get from the Nexus 1. I'm definitely not going to get an iPhone 4 but I have to say, it has a great camera. Any recommendations?

The only Android handsets that surprised me positively in terms of photo output was the SE Xperia 10 Mini - simply because of the size. I hadn't expected much, but quality was decent. The Samsung Galaxy S was okay in daylight.
None of the HTC's I used (Tattoo, Legend, Desire, Desire HD) impressed me - which kinda annoyed me coz the HTC HD2 has a very competent 5 MP shooter.
Even Sony Ericsson's X10 was a let-down, so Android seems to bear at least parts of the culpability. It seems to me the best you can hope for is a fancy interface. My old old Samsung dumbphone Pixon wipes the floor with all of them, as does any mid-/high-end Nokia.

Thanks for the answer... somehow it does seem that Android may be suspect here. I could well be imagining it, but ever since the froyo update it seems the photo quality has been worse than it was when I first started using the phone.

I use Vignette and have image stabilisation on (think the touchscreen facility on my phone doesn't help matters either). But I agree, compared to my old Sony Ericsson W995 the camera is somewhat disappointing.
