Is Android bigger than iPhone in the UK?

Is Android bigger than iPhone in the UK? I ask because most of my friends have iPhones, though I'm seeing more and more people with Samsung Galaxy S IIIs........

Yes.
In before Jan waffles about why it's a meaningless comparison.

As Pond I said, yes it is. A more accurate comparison would be 'does Android have a larger market share than iOS, in the UK?' The answer to which I'd still a resounding yes.

It's difficult to afford £530 iPhone, so Android is more mainstream. If you compare Android flagships to iPhones, there are still more iPhones.

This will probably change this quarter with release of Xperia Z, HTC One and SGS4.
Xperia Z is still hard to come by in retail stores.

Maybe so but in the uk i think the tide is turning. S3 seems to have been outselling i5 in the uk from stats I was wading through earlier, though there's no definite figures from either camp as per.

Irrelevant all - you are comparing 1 company vs dozens and dozens of OEMs; you're comparing a dozen of devices vs close to 2,000 Android gizmos... If you see a point in such a comparison, you need help :p

But yaaaaawn, yes, more people use Android. And there are more flies than bees,

Next: do more people watch X-factor than Newsnight? :p
And what does it all mean? Stay tuned

PS: yeah, yeah... If you're all in charge of million £££ marketing budgets, it matters what OS you bet your Christmas bonus on. But then: if you're british, you're Osborned and can't afford apps http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/11/27/app_payment/. :p

And yet Pirate Bay is blocked, f*ers :p

Rubbish article, anyone going to MyVoucherCodes is looking for a free/discounted cheese in the first place, so it's biased.
