Android internal memory getting low

I have a orange monte carlo running on gingerbread. I think it has about 120 mb internal storage which has nearly finished now as I have been downloading apps. I have a 8gb memory card. Since the internal memory got low I have been unable to download any apps onto my phone as the apps automatically download onto the phone memory. Is there no way that apps can be downloaded straight to the sd card. I have tried the apps to sd app but even by using this half of my apps are on my phone memory which I cant move to the sd card. Please Help

Follow this guide:

If you root your phone you will be able to move any app to SD card. That would be needed, if above guide won't work.

Thanks, CTPAHHIK, good link.

Also: OP, do you really really use all those apps, themes, wallpapers etc etc? Sometimes we don't realise how little use we actually make of that "must-have" app...

I easily spend 90% of the time on my phone using less than 10 apps. One of the main ones being the browser, and that's a built in app. Do you really need all those big games you've played once :p? I do feel your pain though, I owned an HTC Desire...

Yep - I can't remember half the apps and games I downloaded - just the last 3 weeks or so... I usually end up using 4 or 5 regularly.

Many apps on android phones can only be installed on the phones internal memory. I know this from experience. My Samsung Galaxy Ace has many pre installed apps that can't be deleted and are of no use or interest to me. I only had space for Facebook, Twitter and Picassa. This was my second Android phone. The last one was a Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro (full size). It had the same problem but not as bad as the Galaxy Ace. I think I might have to get a windows phone to replace the awful Galaxy Ace.

that Ace must be quite something? So many complaints, can't believe they're still selling it.

Root it and get rid of the crap apps. Hell of a lot more apps than that on my old phone with slightly less internal space.
Would think the uninstallable ones would be on the system partition rather than the one marked internal though so wouldn't directly affect user app space.
Surprised that the apps mentioned won't move to SD but don't use any of those.

Does surprise me that they sold so many but do think the amount they've sold and possibly limited android knowledge of any that buy one are factors in number of complaints. If as many had bought the poorest xperia expect we'd see as many grumbles. Which isn't too say it's not a bad phone, looked at the specs again and it's definitely bad mind you it is nearly two years old.
