So far we’ve had Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, FroYo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, and last year Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
We’re currently looking ahead to Jelly Bean (Android 5.0 - semi-confirmed at Mobile World Congress), but one eager beaver has supposedly revealed the name of the next next version of Android – Key Lime Pie.
For those of you unfamiliar with the delicious dessert, Key Lime Pie hails from the US, and sees our transatlantic cousins combine key lime juice, egg yolks and condensed milk in a pie crust. Mmm, pie.
I believe key lime pie is a favourite of Barefoot Contessa’s Ina Garten. Er, not that I watch cookery programmes. Ahem.
Of course, at this incredibly early stage it’s not known what effect Android Key Lime Pie will have on the numbering. Android 5.1? Android 5.5? Android 6.0?
As for “L”, my money’s firmly on Lemon Cheesecake. Based on, er, absolutely nothing at all.
Good lord, would you look at that picture? Right, I’m off to find some key lime pie. See ya.
