Android Lollipop update rolling out now to ‘most Nexus devices’

Android Lollipop update rolling out now to ‘most Nexus devices’Just yesterday I penned Android Lollipop 5.0: when will my phone be updated? and it turns out the good people at Android were firing out a tweet almost simultaneously.

Android Lollipop 5.0 is now officially making its way through the airwaves to ‘most Nexus devices’. More below!

The full tweet from Android reads: “#AndroidLollipop rollout has started and will soon be available on most #Nexus devices. Dessert is served.”

Obvious question: What the heck does “most” Nexus devices mean? Fortunately, that’s clarified over on a Google Product Forum discussion.

Here’s the official word: “The Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (2012 & 2013) & Nexus 10 will all receive an update to Android 5.0 (Lollipop). The Galaxy Nexus will not get an official update. ”

The Over The Air Android Lollipop 5.0 update started rolling out for the Google Nexus 5, Nexus 7 Wi-Fi (2012 & 2013) and Nexus 10 yesterday. Furthermore, the spanking new Google Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 are on the receiving end of a “minor update”, too.

Alas, users of the Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 LTE will have to wait a little longer, as “nothing is known at this time”. The Android Lollipop 5.0 update is coming; we just don't know when.

To check for software updates on your Nexus device, hit Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now, though be advised that it might take up to three weeks for the update to appear.

Anyone here seeing the Google Nexus Android Lollipop update? Let us know below!
