Can you use an Android phone without data?

I'd mostly be using it at home where I've got Wifi anyway. But can I disable data to make sure I don't get charged anything?

My wife has a non data contract with her Samsung Galaxy S. Works fine. and yes you can disable mobile data through the settings in Android or via a widget if the provider has 'tweaked' them.

The 30 day rolling sim contracts are realy cheap these days (£10pm) gets 250minutes 1000's txts and 500mb of data if you shop around. Unless you are a very light PAYG user these rolling Sims are a good deal
