How are Android phones as mp3 players?

Are all Android phones the same as mp3 players? How's the interface? And sound quality? Does it vary by manufacturer? One of the great things about the iPhone is the iPodness, but I fancy a change.

I've noticed no difference in sound quality between an iPod Touch and my Galaxy S2. The interface is purely a matter of personal opinion though.

And that interface can also vary wildly between the many, many apps available to actually play the stuff. But agree with Matt, there's no difference in sounds quality between my iPod classic and my Sensation.

Pity, given the relatively low quality of the ipod touch sound I would've hoped the S2 would be better.

As for are all the android phones the same, definitely not, but it's not something covered in most reviews.
