Android security recommendations?

What's the best security suite for Android? Something not too expensive (or free!), and not too demanding on resources. Thanks.

Take money, buy drink. Rub rabbit's foot.

Okay, seriously! Don't bother. Be careful. Don't open uninvited mails and texts.
Avoid ad-supported apps... REad reviews before you install apps. And as tempting as it may seem, avoid, um, 'alternative' sources for apps of the free persuasion.

The security apps do NOT work.
They fix problems after the fact....

Best you can do is get an app to monitor what apps 'phone home', and what data they use.
Avoid all unnecessary apps.

Common sense.

Yeah, you don't really need one. Only Install apps from the Play Store (Google already scan every app on their end).
Read the permissions an app requires before installing it, if something looks unusual then don't install it (e.g. there's no reason a Flashlight app needs access to your Contacts).
Also check reviews left, if someone thinks an app is up to no good, they'll probably leave a review saying so.

If you really feel like you need one though go for Avira
100% Free (no In App Purchasing), won't notice it running, has a few cool features too (like stolen phone tracking + block/unblock calls and sms from certain numbers) and it also looks nice.
