Dating is a truly horrible thing. The awkwardness, the nerves, the small talk, the constant ‘Am I coming across like a douche bag?’ concerns (especially if – like me – you’re a douche bag), wondering if you should make a move… the list goes on. It’s genuinely awful.
Until you hit the end of the night, and BOOM! See, my Android brothers and I are more likely than you iPhone and BlackBerry dweebs to get lucky on a first date.
And that’s official, man. Well, according to a survey of Canadian Match.com users by polling chaps Zoomerang - they’re a bit like a boomerang, ‘cept they go faster.
According to the survey, 62% of Android singles have put out on a first date (tut tut), compared to 57% of iOS users and 48% of BlackBerry prudes.
Android users were also the sluttiest, with 55% admitting to having had a one-night stand. Half of iPhone users admitted to skanking it up, closely followed by 47.6% of BlackBerry owners.
Meanwhile, iPhone users were the most likely to date co-workers, while BlackBerry peeps are the best bet for boozing on a first date. Well, if you ain't getting laid, you might as well get leathered.
Three quarters of those surveyed reckoned email and text had "significantly improved their dating life." Surely that goes without saying. When I was young, you could either write a letter or – shock horror – talk to the girl. It was freakin’ terrifying, man. Nowadays…
