Android vs Windows Phone

I'm very tempted by Windows Phone all of a sudden. Not even sure why! Think I just fancy a change. My only concern is the lack of games, or the speed at which they're released on Windows Phone. Can you get San Andreas for example?

You can get GTA San Andreas... it's even optimised for WP devices with just 512MB.

A lot of the one hit wonder games come as copy cats... But many of the big ones are available.

It's also worth mentioning that WP is very efficient. 90 minutes of San Andreas on my Lumia 1520 with volume and screen brightness to max... 15% battery used... Indoors with screen on low and earphones 5-10%....

Another thing: it's becoming clear that many app developers have waited for WP8.1 and Cyan and GDR1 - there have been many many significant app updates in the last 10 days or so. And iOS/Android 'staples' such as Flipboard are on the horizon.

Lastly: WP8.1 GDR1 is a cracking update. Great progress, in all fairness.

You can, of course, take a look at the WP appstore before you make up your mind http://www.windowsphone.com/en-ie/store

Hey Jan, how about music streaming? Take Google Play Music for example, I understand there's an app that can access your cloud music on Google but any idea how good it is?

Not sure I understand you correctly.
A WP app that can acces your Google online library? I have to check.... ;)
(I'm not into the streaming thing much, and I own exactly 2 songs I bought from Google :D )

But I'll try...

Spruceyb,
Just installed a WP app called CloudMuzic on the Lumia 930 - you owe me 99 cent :p
Works fine, and past the login screen it's quite pretty. but again, I only have a couple of songs in my Google cloud 'library'. No idea if it does the job if you have loadsa stuff.
Didn't like the fact that I had to sign into my account not knowing the app developer's take on privacy, but heck... it's Google :p

There are 2 more apps I found that promise the same. I won't try them :D

CloudMuzic was the one I was thinking of.
Was suggesting my sister get a Lumia 925 (to replace her aging Galaxy S2) and she asked me about Play Music and I was clueless about it, it hadn't even crossed my mind.

Thanks for checking it out.
Might try an pick up a cheap Lumia myself.
