The best iPhone app for video editing?

That is not a clear question, and I tell you for why: It's a big difference to try and edit a video
on a 3.5in iPhone 4S or on an iPhone 6 Plus. On the smaller iPhones UIs can be very frustrating. Tbh, personally I wouldn't even attempt to edit a video on anything below the iPhone 6.

That brings me to the next point: define "editing"?! Do you just want to crop or trim, and then maybe apply a filter befor you upload to share online? Or do you want to splice, and merge and apply your own soundtrack etc etc?

I find Magisto quite good.
Apple's own iMovie
may be a bit bloaty, and it IS a bit much on a small screen, but it is solid. Especially if you
have a Mac or iPad also, iMovie is very useful - you can exchange projects, export and share with other devices to then finish on a bigger screen.

There are loads of video editor apps in iTunes that are perfect for simple one-trick use: apply a filter, or trim to Vine length etc...
I would suggest you try a few apps. Many are available free and if you like what you see, you can buy the full version or additional packages.
