Apple blocking iPad 2 sales to international customers

It's the obvious thing to do if you want an iPad 2 early here in the UK: buy one of the US stock and have it shipped over. Well, if this is your master plan, we've got bad news: T3 reports that Apple is blocking all international shipments of units ordered online, and is even refusing to send its tablet to US companies known for forwarding items abroad.

I was considering doing that but was worried about the total unknown that would be the customs and duties fees.

even if you can emma, don't.. the rate at customs is roughly %25 of the item value, and vat AND import duty

That's HUGE. Will just wait for UK models, though it could mean months before I actually get my pasty hands on to one.

yes it is huge, it is to discourage importing goods and protect both retail and government revenues, just hold on you will get one soon enough
