Does Apple Care include accidental damage? Or is it effectively just an extended warranty?

It's the Applecare+ that includes cover for accidental damage, but think this is only available on the iPhone

Yeah, we did a quick story on AppleCare+ when it launched a couple of months ago.
Essentially, the iPad, iPod touch and iPhone each have their own AppleCare+ packages, but all three include "up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling". The excess fee differs for each.
