Suggesting that there might be an Apple event in September isn’t exactly a far-out concept. That’s traditionally when Apple announces its new iPod range.
However, with the lack of iPhone 5 action at WWDC in June, this year’s event is sure to garner more attention than it otherwise might have. According to a typically anonymous source of Japanese site Kodawarisan, Apple’s next event will take place on September 7.
Despite the lack of any evidence whatsoever, it’s widely believed that the iPhone 5 will hijack the iPod event. Rumour mongers can’t agree, however, if Apple’s latest smartphone will actually hit shelves in September or October.
As for Kodawarisan’s credibility, MacRumours notes that the Japanese site correctly predicted the launch date for a new Mac mini in 2009.
If the event does indeed take place on September 7, that’s less than four weeks away. Just saying.
