We're still waiting for further info to emerge from Apple itself, but top US retail chain Target may just have let the cat out of the bag: it says the Apple iPad mini 2 will be available on November 21.
That fits broadly in with what little Apple has said on the subject. According to the Apple Store, the iPad mini with Retina Display is “coming later in November”, while CEO Tim Cook admitted during Apple's earnings call last week that “it's not clear if we'll have enough”.
More importantly, it also means the new iPad mini will be available ahead of the big Thanksgiving/Black Friday retail push that traditionally kicks off the holiday shopping season across the Atlantic.
Then again, if stocks are as limited as some are fearing that may be more of a curse than a blessing. And as pointed out by Mac Rumors, November 21 is a Thursday, when typically Apple products go on sale on a Friday – the iPad Air, for instance, will be available tomorrow, Friday November 1.
We'll keep you posted on whether these rumours are indeed... you, know... on Target.
