We've written about the iPhone 6 in the past, and we'll continue to write about the iPhone 6 in future. Here we're writing about the iPhone 6 in the present, though if you're reading this article in the future then it was written in the past.
That was somewhat of a private joke, but we won’t judge you for laughing along. Where were we?! Ah yes, Apple’s iPhone 6 will possibly be “delayed”, obviously. Quelle surprise, mes amis.
Rumours of iDevice delays are par for the proverbial course, to the extent that some cynics reckon the rumours are started by none other than Apple in an attempt to drive consumers into a fug-I-must-have-it-right-now-before-it-disappears frenzy.
Here, G 4 Games relays word from “Taiwanese media” suggesting that manufacturer Catcher has failed to meet Apple’s lofty standards, with its iPhone 6 chassis showing small cracks and blemishes. That’s not on, Catcher; these are premium products, not something to be sold down the market.
Resultantly, Apple has reassigned the work it would’ve had Catcher complete to Jabil and trusty old Foxconn, which has reportedly hired 100,000 new workers just for the iPhone 6.
As such, the iPhone 6 launch could be delayed until later in the year (unlikely), or perhaps it’ll arrive in limited quantity (yawn).
