Apple rejects Sony Reader app

Looks like the App Store police are out on the beat again. Apple has rejected the Sony Reader app from gracing the virtual stores of its online app repository, saying it isn't willing to accept apps that permit in-app purchases of content that doesn't come from Apple itself. Because all that nasty competition wouldn't be a good thing, would it? 9To5Mac has more on the subject.

That is, pardon my English, ridiculous. Taking that logic further, one could argue that every Google link is a 'purchase' - Google being foremost an ad company. So why not ban all browsers that show non websites? (***oops, this was for my pedants anonymous group*** - still, Apple need to lighten apps...)
