Will Apple repair a jailbroken iPhone?

My iPhone won't even turn on, ARGH. Will Apple still repair it if they discover it was jailbroken - will they be able to tell? Would they care either way??

Careful! I had problem with jailbroken iPhone in the past. Took it to Apple genius bar for repair. I forgot to restore the phone back to factory settings. They found Cydia and jailbroken apps and refused to repair it and wanted to void the warranty. Eventually store manager came up and said no way they can let me go without voiding the warranty on their system. So I learned from lesson. Next time I go there I restored the phone to factory settings.

I had 2 iPhones on Vodafone Ireland... jailbricked. Repaired without any problems.

How can you tell if it's jailbroken when it does not turn on?
What did you do with it?

Yeah you'll be fine. I'm not sure I'd send it off if I had loads of pirated apps on the phone, though oO

ctpahhik,
internal logs ;)
Nokia and all other players can tell if you flashed custom roms etc... But usually the first thing they do when receiving a brick is flash the rom, and I haven't had a prob. I guess if you send in a half-working iphone with a cydia theme, the bells start ringing

If you cannot power it on how do you flash anything? You can manage to break bootloader with everything else staying intact, but don't think this is possible to do on iPhone.

I think you're wrong, but I'm too busy to prove it :p
