Did Apple resolve the iPhone 4S battery problem?

I read that the iPhone 4S had poor battery life at first. Did Apple address the problem?

I would appear the software updates last year fixed most issues.
And remember, not all owners had problems in the first place.

My suspicion: the whole thing was blown out of all proportion.
Consider also that Siri, iMessage etc etc all added features that are heavy on the battery and data consumption. I reckon many "problems" were simply based on people experimenting with those new features.

Anyhow, the iPhone 4S owners in my wider circle have no issues bar what can be expected if you have loadsa online services running in the background.
