Apple starts shipping UK iPad 2s

Apple starts shipping UK iPad 2sHaving “launched” the iPad 2 over two weeks ago, on March 25, Apple has finally begun shipping units to UK customers who placed their orders online. We were beginning to think you’d forgotten about us, Apple.

Consumer guys Which? received an order update suggesting their iPad 2 had shipped on Saturday, with an estimated delivery date of today. However, they note that the date is “subject to change”.

It’s not yet clear how many orders have started shipping. Indeed, our Mobotorial Director, Emma, is still waiting patiently.

Apple continues to be characteristically shy about sales and production figures, but demand is clearly still outweighing supply. The estimated shipping time in the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain and Australia (to name the few that I checked) is 2-3 weeks. At its highest, the wait time was 4-5 weeks in the US.

I ordered iPad 2 on 25th March, so i presume it was on one of the first shipments over here from china. It was shipped on saturday with UPS, and i've been tracking it ever since, it was scheduled to arrive on Monday, but after waiting in all day and phoning UPS, I found out it was delayed 24 hours so i am expecting it tommorow. Even this is very good considering it was shipped from China.

Mine shipped from China this morning and cleared German customs about an hour ago. Hopefully will get it before the weekend.
