Enjoying the wsj take on it..

Wondering if this this will be referred to as "New MacBook Pro." I don't know how much more of this "new" naming I can take.

Coming up on the hour mark. Nothing earth-shattering to report just yet.

Heavy farcebook integration in ios 6 Jan will love it.

Siri proper comes to the recent ipad, odd. App launching abilities.Car integration.

New maps as expcted, all a bit already heard it all, and don't even get it until the new iphone launches in autumn..

2) New MacBook Pro - Available today
3) Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion - Didn't see what they said as I was eating my dinner
4) iOS 6 - Beta available today, public release in "fall 2012" (with the new iPhone?)

You can now get Siri on the iPad 3, yay, how useful.

I think they said blah blah blah gaming connectivity with ipad blah blah blah $19.99

Ah missed the beta of 6 will look for that once the mad rush has died down if my touch is sufficient to receive it.

You'll need a $99 per year developer account to get the iOS 6 Beta, and it'll only run on 4th Generation iPod Touches.

Well it's more useful than it was, if it can understand the owner at least, app launching, but still most things seem blah with it. Think it's less embarrassing than on a phone as it's more likely to not be in public. Siri how much of a tit do I look speaking to you on my phone on the train.

Wondering if the farcebook integration might be too heavy to remove easily

Just don't log into FB, problem solved.

Ah that'll be a no on both counts then. Funny that they talk of how ios5 is on 80% of their devices and then go to split it

AhmadCentral  Jun. 11, 2012 at 20:18

I must say the new macbooks are really good.

Now where's that 75% off voucher code i got from Apple a while back....

matt101101 / MOD  Jun. 11, 2012 at 20:21

The Retina MacBook starts from £1800, though. Worth it? Not in my opinion...

Hmmm, fragmentation :p.

If not remove, then at least 'cripple' ;)

meanwhile...on Twitter "no iPhone 5" is trending world-wide. Who on earth thought today was iPhone 5 day?

Apple fanboys? I don't understand how people find it so hard to come to terms with the fact the iPhone now comes out in Autumn (I refuse to call it "fall").

Pondlife  Jun. 11, 2012 at 22:01

Well they could have gone back to the summer releases. I think having ipad and iphone in opposite quarters suits them better though.

Thought no ipad mini might have been been trending, still imaginary it seems.

jaybear88  Jun. 12, 2012 at 10:58

That was disappointing.... I actually decided that if iOS6 was interesting, I would consider the new iPhone in the Fall (sorry Matt :p)

To sum up:
- Siri now works properly (like it should have done rather than releasing a Beta....)
- Facebook is now through everything so every aspect of my life can be recorded and publicised.
- Google maps have been replaced with more maps. Fantastic.
- I can send a call straight to voicemail.

Have I missed anything? Let's face it, that was more like iOS5.1

Pondlife  Jun. 12, 2012 at 11:50

Well they couldn't call it that for a couple of reasons, there's already been 5.1 but would also be harder to explain excluding more devices from the new version.

jaybear88  Jun. 12, 2012 at 13:03

My mistake Pondlife, 5.2 ;)

I love the fact that FaceTime now works over 3g..... almost caught up to 2003 now!
