Apple's iOS 7 to start rolling out on September 10 itself?

Apple's iOS 7 to start rolling out on September 10 itself? In the world of Apple, nothing's ever 100% certain until it's actually announced, but as things stand we're expecting the iOS 7-running iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C to be announced on September 10, and to go on sale 10 days later.

However, you won't have to wait that long for iOS 7 itself to emerge – in fact, Apple's latest mobile OS looks set to be rolled out the very same day it's announced.

The evidence comes by way of an email to a developer from voice recognition software firm Nuance (the company responsible for Siri), which reads: “as you are probably aware, iOS 7 GA will be released on September 10.”

If Nuance does have its facts straight, it would mark a change from what we saw with last year's release of iOS 6, when the OS started rolling out a week after the iPhone 5 event.

And considering the consistent rumours of delays that have dogged the development of the latest “flatter” version of iOS, a same-day rollout would mark a bit of a turnaround – especially since the iOS 7 Gold Master release is only expected to turn up on September 5.

So maybe it's best not to place too much stock in Nuance's claims for now until something more official emerges.

I must admit ... I get each iPhone when they are released or soon after, however I flit between OS'S and have tried windows, android and apple in the past 3 months. I used to rely on the jailbreak to have the phone my way but now I am happy with the phone the way it is , I used android to mod the software as I like tinkering but it was a little too excessive I.e new rom every day, so now I am happy to stick with the iPhone as it is and neither ipad or iPhone are jail broken.

I'm a bit like that - though the iPhone 3GS was the only iPhone/iDevice I ever paid for. I use mainly a Nokia N9, and in the past 12 months nothing 'new' seemed to offer any reason to change that. I too enjoyed tinkering with Android, but there is a point when enough is enough.
When one just wants to use the stuff. And for that I find Android still too messy, too immature, too annoyingly inconsistent etc etc.... I'm tired of spending the first day and then some with every new Android device I use trying out launchers and configurations that suit me and aren't too intrusive etc.

As to non-jailbreak iOS - yes, it did get better, but I'd still find it hard to buy a phone without easy, convenient non-cloudy file-management. Also, until I can experience iOS 7 in action, I'll reserve all judgement. Based on photos and video clips, I cannot imagine looking at iOS 7 without a different them/skin... which brings me back to jailbreak etc...
