Which has more apps - Android or iOS?

Does the Android Market have more apps than the App Store?

No, there are more iOS apps.
But since we're talking hundreds of thousands and not all are available for all devices and not all are available or of use in all regions/countries, it is a bit futile to compare figures.
I think the general opinion even among Android fans is that iOS apps are generally more polished. But that, of course, is a matter of personal preferences and needs/wants...

Jan, didn't the Android market reach 500,000 back in August whereas the iOS App Store reached the same figure just last week?

EDIT: Ignore that ^^^, it's entirely wrong, App store reached 500000 in May and Android in October according to my Googling.

That aside, there are way more apps for both than anyone could ever use. Saying that, even as an avid lover of Android and Google, I have to admit as a general rule iOS apps are far more polished and far less buggy than their Android alternative.

If I could have the iOS App Store on the Android OS....I'd be in smartphone heaven ;).

I get a constant barrage of insults from an Apple head at work who is convinced that most of the top 10 apps for Android are those that task-kill other apps. I ask him how his pull down notification bar is and he shuts up for a while.
Also he sends me all sorts of Apple idioms, such as "Mama always says, don't buy an app which has an ugly logo". To which I reply "Buy? ah, you mean iOS" That shuts him up again.
Though to be fair and to echo Matt's comment, iOS apps are definitely (on the whole) more polished.
