arc wifi will not connect to bthomehub

All software is up to date and it doesn't matter what the security setting is, all I get is 'limited connectivity' which in essence means no connectivity...

Hmmm have you checked the DNS settings on the phone?

paddymcn  Oct. 4, 2011 at 19:55

paddy. old trick and probably tried but... switch both the phone and hub off and on... sometimes the homehub wont recognise new devices.

Personally I have VM not BT so I can only offer general Internet & Wi-Fi advice...sorry OP.

i do have the homehub 2.0 but i can only go on my experience...

(also did you go on your friends wifi first? if so maybe worth deleting that memory?)

paddymcn  Oct. 4, 2011 at 23:04

Sorry guys, I set up a static ip address and it connected to the wifi but I then could not get an internet connection, giving up for the night. I voted the DNS comment the best as it got me closest to a fix :p

Does phone shows connected to WiFi in notification bar? Or it shows connecting, but never connects and you still see E/H/3G in notification bar?

If phone shows connected and internet does not work it most likely an IP address conflict. If phone does not connect and keeps using mobile network it would be WiFi security identification failure. Let me know which one it is.

Phone shows as connected so it must be an ip address conflict? Sorry, I'm at work and can't reply quickly but thanks everyone for the help

CTPAHHIK  Oct. 5, 2011 at 14:32

For ip conflict remove connection from the phone wifi settings. Login into your router as admin or SuperUser (whichever one it is) and see if you have phone connection in list of connected devices. I don't know how menu for your router works, but it should show connected devices. You need to remove phone connection from router and reconnect your phone. Afterwards set IP address assigned as static or DHCP lease time unlimited. Give this a try and let me know.

thats the link to access the homehub remotely... should show devices connected wirelessly.

Thanks guys, done a factory re-set on the phone and re-assigned a static ip address and all is fine :)

Really appreciate all your help
