Asus confirms Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) for tablets

Asus confirms Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) for tabletsIt’s Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) mania at the moment. Just a few days ago, HTC confirmed Jelly Bean for the HTC One X, One XL, and One S.

Now fellow Taiwanese manufacturer Asus is making Jelly Bean-flavoured promises, starting with three of its tablets. Jelly Bean for all! Er, or some, at least.

Asus was near the front of the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) queue, and now it’s looking to do the same with Jelly Bean.

The lucky devices are the Asus Transformer Pad, the Transformer Pad Prime, and the Transformer Pad Infinity.

The Asus Jelly Bean announcement reads: "We are pleased to announce that many of our tablet products are scheduled to receive an update to Android 4.1, Jelly Bean.

“The ASUS Transformer Pad, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity are all scheduled to receive Android 4.1 updates in the coming months. We will provide further guidance on our expected timeframes for these updates near their release.

"We are still investigating Jelly Bean updates for other devices, but we are not in a position to confirm whether any other products will be eligible for an update at the moment."

Good times.
