Asus threatens to ‘transform’ a bunch of stuff, new Transformer at IFA 2013?

You have to give Asus credit for keeping something in the tank for IFA (yes, we’re looking at you, Acer and LG). Instead of issuing full spoilers (or “press releases”, if you prefer), the Taiwanese are indulging in good old-fashioned teasing over on Facebook.

Specifically, Asus is enjoying a daily countdown, with a bunch of “We Transform…” picture thingies.

It’s Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) mania at the moment. Just a few days ago, HTC confirmed Jelly Bean for the HTC One X, One XL, and One S.

Now fellow Taiwanese manufacturer Asus is making Jelly Bean-flavoured promises, starting with three of its tablets. Jelly Bean for all! Er, or some, at least.

Asus teases new tablet ahead of Mobile World Congress

Lewis Curdie  Feb. 24, 2012 at 11:00

Not to be outdone by LG and HTC in the pre-Mobile World Congress leak/unveiling department, Asus has released a teaser video for a spanking new device.

The official video, posted on YouTube, lasts just 17 seconds, and appears to be for a new tablet. Maybe. There’s not a great deal to go on, to be honest.

Asus Transformer TF300T detailed

Lewis Curdie  Feb. 18, 2012 at 14:00

Around a couple of weeks ago, we first heard of a spanking new tablet (yep, another one) from Asus, called the Transformer TF300T.

The original Asus Eee Pad Transformer, the TF101, is scheduled to get Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) soonish, but there’s a bit of dubiety about just when it’ll be served.

There's nothing like a good mystery, and Asus has delivered just that courtesy of this attractive looking new Eee Pad tablet that's been spotted out in the wild.

We've nothing other than a couple of images and the model name TF300T to go on, but its visual resemblance to the original Eee Pad Transformer suggests we could well be looking at its successor.

Usually when we cite Digitimes they’re rambling on about the next iPhone or iPad, maybe with a little something thrown in about manufacturing woes, but today it’s all about Asus’ 2012 shipping estimates. What a lovely change.

Asus held its global sales meeting on Monday this week, and ultimately it aims to punch Samsung in the face in terms of tablet shipments next year.

Asus Transformer Prime goes like hotcakes on Amazon.com

Lewis Curdie  Nov. 25, 2011 at 11:00

We were never really in any doubt about the potential popularity of the Asus Transformer Prime. The Taiwanese manufacturer keenly boasted that its Eee Pad Transformer was the best selling tablet behind the iPad.

Turns out our faith was indeed well placed, as the first batch of Asus Transformer Primes appears to have sold out in less than 24 hours on Amazon.com.
