Not to be outdone by South Korea’s LG and its incessant Mobile World Congress (MWC)-related teasing, Taiwan’s Asus has fired out a YouTube video of its own.
The 27-second clip makes for bizarre viewing, and promises “Ultimate Craftsmanship. Today.” Release date TBC.
While LG was vaguely specific (fantastic phrasing, me), the Asus video doesn’t really give much away.
Instead, we’re treated to a, uhm, cinematic display, with some sort of spaceship cruising over Barcelona, casting a massive shadow as it goes.
“Wait; is that a metallic object flying across the sky?” asks one onlooker, who doesn’t seem particularly troubled. I guess he’s quite used to seeing skyscraper-sized metallic objects flying across the sky.
“It’s docked into the church!” he goes on to observe, as the spaceship slots into the awesome Sagrada Familia (I once napped on a bench outside it).
While we have a rough idea what to expect from HTC and Samsung, and while LG is happily showing its cards, we don’t know what to expect from Asus. Probably a tad early for the Windows PadFone.
From the video, I guess we could infer some sort of metallic tablet device with a docking accessory. Par for the Asus course, really, but we’re hoping they’ve something special up their sleeves.
