Google's slight product reshuffle to drop the 8GB Nexus 7 tablet, and sell the 16GB at its old price (£159) to make space for the new 32GB model means twice the storage for the same money – always a good thing.
But how would you be feeling if you bought your Android 7-incher just before the price was changed? Well, the good news is Google has your back – or your back pocket anyway, as it's sending out £25 Asus Shop vouchers to help soothe the pain.
Anyone who bought their Nexus 7 directly from either Google or Asus before October 29 is eligible. You must be able to prove this (obviously), and your tablet must also be registered with Asus.
The scheme will be active until the end of the month, though you'll have until December 31 to spend your voucher.
The Nexus 7 lineup refresh came as part of the wider Nexus/Jelly Bean announcement of a couple of weeks ago, and the revised models went on sale immediately, but only directly from Google and Asus. To buy one elsewhere, you'll have to wait until Tuesday, which is also when the other two new Nexuses – the Nexus 4 smartphone and the Nexus 10 tablet – will be available to buy.
