We thought we were pretty much done with all these product launches (it’s been a crazy few weeks), and were reluctantly about to settle into pre-CES hibernation.
However, Taiwanese manufacturer Asus still has a cheeky treat up its sleeve. It’s holding a launch party – two parties, in fact – for the Asus Padfone 2 on October 16. Boom!
Asus’ save-the-date thingy shows just a tiny corner of the smartphone component, and tells us to leave Tuesday October 16 free. Simultaneous launch parties will go down in Milan and Taipei.
Not a great deal is known about the Asus Padfone 2, other than the suggestion that it’ll rock a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor.
The original Asus Padfone turned heads as a fairly outrageous smartphone/tablet/netbook hybrid, with a 4.3in handset, 10.1in tablet “shell” (requiring the smartphone to operate), and keyboard dock.
Jonney Shih explained: "The time has finally arrived when every screen in your lives could transcend into a portal with real time access into your digital world." Er…
