The original Asus Padfone is currently going for £689.99, with the keyboard dock, over at Expansys. Bargain (says the guy who spent £700 on an iPhone 5). I wonder if anyone in the country bought one.
In any case, Asus has told us to leave October 16 free for the Padfone 2 launch, and – surprise, surprise – the specs have now been leaked in advance. Well, supposedly.
The purported Asus Padfone 2 specs first appeared over on Chinese site mobile01.com, and are relayed by Pocket Droid. We appear to be looking at some sort of Asus Padfone 2 box.
We’re told to expect a 4.7in Super IPS+ display (1280 x 720) on the smartphone component, a quad-core Qualcomm S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, and a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and flash.
Other Asus Padfone 2 specs include a 2,140mAh battery, 1.2MP front camera, LTE (Long Term Evolution), and 2GB of RAM.
No mention of the Asus Padfone 2 tablet size, but we imagine it’ll be 10.1in again. Nor are we told which version of Android to expect, though Asus has a pretty decent rep, so we’d bet on Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) at this stage.
