Asus “PadFone” pics leaked

Asus “PadFone” pics leakedNotebook Italia has managed to score a couple of cheeky pics of what Asus is calling its “PadFone”. The pics appear to show a smartphone sitting on top of a tablet and, er, that’s it.

Asus recently released the somewhat controversial Eee Pad Transformer, and it promises to reveal a brand new device this week at its Computex 2011 press conference.

The Taiwanese manufacturer teased the new device on its Facebook page, with the tagline: “Break the rules: Pad or Phone?” We’re anticipating some sort of Dell Streak-style effort.

However, Unwired View is thinking outside the proverbial box a little more, and speculates – based on the leaked images – that the device might come in two parts, with a phone that somehow docks in the tablet portion.

Are they out of their freakin' minds or bang on the money? We'll find out soon.

What a horrid looking piece of technology.

blizzard, exact specs aren't nown yet, but seeing the docked phone, I'd reckon the tab-dock is 10''+ rather than 7...?

That sounds like a fair assumption to me. I can see a lot of people getting by without touching full-fat PC in the near future.
