Looking at the latest numbers from Android Developers, there are relatively few devices on Jelly Bean (13.6%), and fewer still when you isolate the latest version – Android 4.2.
Until now, the only devices officially rocking Android 4.2 were of the Nexus variety, but the Asus Transformer Pad TF300 has joined the party.
It’s no surprise, really, as Asus has often been front of the pack when it comes to Android updates.
I believe the Asus Transformer Prime was one of the first tablets to rock Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) – as well as being the first Tegra 3 device. Not too shabby.
Similar story with the just-announced Asus PadFone Infinity smartphone/tablet hybrid, as it’ll ship with Android 4.2 when it drops next month.
The comparatively modest Asus MeMO Pad will rock Android 4.1 initially, though an update is promised for Q2.
What’s new in Android 4.2? Features include Photo Sphere and user accounts for tablets.
