There’s no shortage of top tier Samsung Galaxy devices on the market at present, such as the Galaxy Note phablet, the Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) flagship Galaxy Nexus, and the spanking new Samsung Galaxy S III. Phew.
However, the South Korean manufacturer is a firm believer that more is more, and as such it’s promising a ‘major’ product announcement on August 15.
Insert the obligatory paragraph where I sidestep the elephant in the room by speculating that it might be a device we already know about, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
Followed by the paragraph in which I concede that we’re almost certainly looking at the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note II.
A recent rumour suggested the Samsung Galaxy Note II launch would go down on August 30. Looks like it wasn’t too far off. Maybe.
Rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note II specs include a 5.5in “unbreakable” display, 8MP rear camera, and 1.5GB of RAM. A 16:9 aspect ratio would yield a narrower device than the original Samsung Galaxy Note.
The rumour mill seems fairly convinced that Samsung is aiming to tempt those waiting for the iPhone 5 with a sexy Galaxy Note II. Er, despite the fact that they’ll be massively different devices.
In any case, August 15 is three weeks on Tuesday. Not long to wait, baby.
