Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 OS has been called "too simple" – heck, LG's marketing boss thinks it's "boring". So to make it less simple Dell added loads of real buttons, making it a QWERTY, and now you can get the Dell Venue Pro in just three days. Where? At Expansys UK.

App stores: a security time bomb?

At ease, troopers and mobotniks! Unless you're a celebrity or an ex-MP like Paul Marsden, and the Daily Mail is interested in you (his phone hacking ordeal is documented on the BBC), you probably have no reason to call the bomb squad to take care of your sneaky phone. Not yet...

Granted, Mr Marsden's privacy breach is not app store related, but nonetheless, a casual approach to telecommunication is involved. And it is probably no coincidence that, while his story breaks all over the news, smartphone apps stores are being scrutinised in public.

Cookie's Home Tab 2.00 for Windows Mobile - makes more Sense

Times are tough. We would all like a new phone, but... the budget. So today we make the best of what we already have. For that, we will use Cookie's Home Tab, it makes Sense - and it makes it even better.

Long before Android came along, Taiwanese tech wizards HTC realised that you can make any phone OS better, and by any I mean Windows Mobile - specifically Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5. Nokia E7: a preview of delayed gratification

The Nokia E7 Communicator was announced at Nokia World in September 2010. In phone manufacturer language that means "12 excuses ago." But do I care? Pah... anticipation is half the fun, and anticEpate I do. Yes, I confess: I am biased. There. Something to talk about in the comments. Truth be told, Nokia's eSeries smartphones are probably the reason I'm here on this site. Incredible. The Nokia E61 opened the door to the online universe in the broadband-less part of the world I call home.

Windows Phone 7: A Little Bit Boring. End Of Story?

On Friday, Windows Phone 7 Series, Microsoft's weapon in the fight for pocket dominance, received a bit of a tattle tale endorsement. Had it come from an Apple fanboy, the statement could be interpreted as flattering: “For tech guys like us it might be a little bit boring after a week or two..."[Gizmocrunch] The problem for Microsoft is this: James Choi said it, and the cheeky non-conformist is LG's head of marketing strategy and planning. And he is bored. Ouch.

HTC Desire HD Review: The Prince formerly known as "Ace"

HTC Desire HD Review: The Prince formerly known as "Ace"

Jan Stuhlmacher  Jan. 11, 2011 at 17:38

It's the same old desire..., crooned Ozzy Osbourne, and P.J. Harvey asked, "Is this Enough Desire"... and on and on. It seems we all have issues with desire, but for those of you who have used the original HTC Desire the questions may indeed be valid: Is HTC's new Opus Magnus, the Desire HD enough? Just bigger but the "same old..."?

Answers. It Is. It Isn't. The image above may partly explain why many reviewers judged the HTC Desire HD as "just a slightly updated and bigger Desire." Every HTC phone is promoted using more or less the same homescreen image, and th e homescreen dominates a touchscreen phone. HTC obviously try to create brand awareness, and though the Sense UI clock has almost become synonymous with "Android phone", it seems now it's backlash time. Is the prince worthy of the crown? Are there actually new clothes on the future King?

Fear not. This is the Android King, and the King rocks.
